Victims of Child Abuse Act Passed |
![]() Last week, through a bi-partisan effort, the House of
Representatives passed the final version of the Victims of Child Abuse Act. A key champion in the effort of passing the bill, in Washington, D.C., was Senator Roy Blunt (R-MO). Determined and committed to seeing the bill pass, Senator
Blunt spent the past year traveling the state speaking on the matter of child abuse and stressing the need to improving mental health services in the state. The passing of the bill means the reauthorization of the
federal funding that is provided to organizations like Child Advocacy Centers that work to prevent, investigate, and prosecute child abuse. All that awaits now is President Obama’s signature and places like Child Advocacy Centers can continue working on creating a safer world for children to live in. |
