Reducing Early Childhood Injuries at Home and in Motor Vehicles
This pilot project is funded by Saint Louis University/ Washington University in St. Louis and BJC HealthCare via the St Louis Community/University Health Research Partnerships. The project focuses on reducing pediatric injuries by taking injury prevention education into the homes of young children. During this project 300 families will receive a short home visit from a registered nurse. During the visit the nurse will perform a cursory safety check of the home, educate the parents on how to prevent common childhood injuries, and provide the families with essential safety supplies such as: smoke detectors, car seats, and pack and plays.
