CVIP Field Agency Partner Tackles Childhood Trauma Locally

The Center for Violence and Injury Prevention (CVIP) field agency partner Children’s Advocacy Services of Greater St. Louis (CASGSL), led by Dr. Jerry Dunn, CASGSL director and CVIP research collaborator on the GAIN project, tackles childhood trauma in the St. Louis area. Through CASGSL and the GAIN project children have access to effective trauma services that alleviate negative symptoms associated with traumatic experiences. The GAIN project in particular serves adolescent girls (ages 12 to 18) with histories of maltreatment and involvement in the child welfare system. CASGSL therapists provide therapeutic services to girls participating in the GAIN project, with clinical oversight from both Dr. Dunn herself as well as CVIP faculty affiliate Dr. Wendy Auslander.
