Melissa Jonson-Reid Awarded Dr. Terry Leet Research Award 

On October 14, 2011, the Maternal Child and Family Health Coalition honored Center Director, Dr. Melissa Jonson-Reid and  5 other award recipients for “their outstanding  leadership and advocacy for mothers and babies”. 

During the Coalition’s 2011 Standing Up for Mothers & Babies Awards Dinner, Dr. 
Jonson-Reid was awarded one of two Dr. Terry Leet Research Award. The late Dr. Terry Leet was a renowned professor of Public Health, who combined his outstanding research skills with his inspirational collaborative aptitude in order to advance research and direct practices in the fields of maternal and early childhood health. Dr. Jonson-Reid’s tireless work on transdiciplinary approaches to child maltreatment prevention and intervention truly reflects the spirit of the prestigious award.
